About Reels

Reels is an independent music video competition, open to all New Zealand-based bands, artists, and filmmakers. Reels has been established to provide an avenue for emerging talent to gain exposure and recognition. The awards will be open to Aotearoa residents who have independently produced a music video without funding from a label or government source. We believe that music videos should be a creative expression of the artist, and so we are proud to offer an independent platform for the creation of music videos that are unconstrained by commercial pressures or government funding. We’re excited to see the creative and captivating music videos our entrants produce!
